Those in-store produce mists might not be spraying just water!

We've all seen it. You're walking through your grocer in the produce section when those refreshing misters come on to spray the produce. Like me, I'm assuming you thought they were just spraying water to keep everything fresh looking but it turns out, that water might be mixed with an FDA approved disinfectant wash called, ProduceMaxx.

Why the issue?

This chemical formula is approved for both organic and pesticide treated produce and the main ingredient is bleach. Did you want to pay extra money to purchase organic produce, only to later realize it's been sprayed with a chemical after it's left the farm? What about informed consent? Don't we have a right to know what's being sprayed on our food, espeially when we're paying for chemicals NOT to be used? Organic produce should not be sprayed. Heck, even produce that's been treated with pesicides shouldn't be further doused with even more chemcials at your grocer. Make sure to let your produce grocer know that you don't want a bleach wash sprayed on your food.
